Torrent stops seeding at download completion
Say when I normally download a torrent and the file size is 1GB. It normally only uploads mb or sometimes even less and then says seeding complete. I am thinking about renting a server so I can download and seed torrents that have very few seeds and then leave them seeding without them stopping after uploading a small percentage of the file. · Just removed the torrent from uTorrent and re-download the torrent file, and got upload instantly at ~ kB/s! Tracker states that torrent file is the same as was downloaded previously (visible by date). It is not clean experiment, so if upload will stop again, I will try to remove and add the same torrent file (will take a copy from temp). · You have finished downloading and are now uploading, a.k.a. seeding. There is nothing for you to "sort out". You can stop seeding whenever you wish, although it is considered good practice to seed until you have uploaded at least as much as you downloaded.
I set upload at 50kBs during peering, and then at 70kBs for 90 minutes after I complete to seed. I wish I had those upload speeds. I'm on /, I set my uploads at 25KB/s if I'm not downloading, I set uploads at 22KB/s if I am downloading. I only stop seeding if nobody wants the torrent anymore or when it gets removed from the tracker. It will immediately stop it from seeding after the download is complete. This will stop you from seeding. That being said, if everybody leeched without seeding, you wouldn't be able to torrent at all, so really this is quite selfish. But still, that's how you do it. Due to restricted bandwidth I can only seed certain days. In general with my PC i had my torrents stop once download was complete and i can restart seeding when ready. I need my torrents to stop seeding once downloading completes. Im not sure if i am missing a setting but i can not see this option anywhere. On my pc i could set seed goal to 0%. After your torrent download completes, try right clicking on the torrent and then choose STOP or PAUSE. I said “try” because I use Vuze (formerly called Azureus) rather than uTorrent. Feature-for-feature, these products are almost identical to each other. They are the two top torrent client, and are generally considered twins. Once the time’s passed, uTorrent will notify you that your torrent finished downloading. If you look carefully, you’ll see that another timer has replaced it, one with a Seed sign. All you have to do is right-click on your file and choose Stop. That way, you’ll break the connection with the server, and you’ll stop seeding from your computer.
