I went through this a few updates ago; this might apply to you: make sure you have enough free memory on your PS4. Even if it's a 3 GB update, the PS4 will need up to 40 GB free. The PS4 won't use the whole 40 GB, but that amount needs to be free on the system. edit: changed MB to GB.
